Sean Maloney

Sean is a partner in the law firm of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, resident in the firm’s New York office, where his work focuses on global finance.  Previously, Sean was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, and, from 2007-09, he served as First Deputy Secretary to the Governor of New York, with responsibility for the Governor's strategic and policy priorities.  Sean oversaw 13 state agencies and departments, including those responsible for all homeland security, state police and emergency management operations.  From 1997-2000, Sean served as a senior West Wing advisor to President Clinton.  As the President's staff secretary, Sean managed the daily flow of information to the President and prepared the President's decision memos and daily briefing materials.  In 2006, Sean ran for Attorney General of New York, the first openly gay candidate to run for statewide office.  Sean is a graduate of the University of Virginia and of the University of Virginia Law School.
