Tekla Taylor is the Constitutional Accountability Center’s Communications and Development Associate. They have built their career as an activist and communications professional in the LGBTQ and reproductive justice movements.
Previously, they worked as the Communications Assistant at Catholics for Choice, promoting reproductive freedom and religious liberty. They also serve as the LGBTQ Outreach Lead for the D.C. Abortion Fund, an all-volunteer fund which helps make abortion access a reality for those who can’t afford it.
They are a published poet and professional artist, and graduated cum laude from the University of Mary Washington in 2013 with a B.A. in the history of gender and sexuality. At UMW, they won the James Farmer Scholarship for Excellence in History and Commitment to Service and the 2012 Writing Award in the Social Sciences.
