Washington, DC – On news today that U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia has passed away, Constitutional Accountability Center President Elizabeth Wydra issued the following statement:

“We are shocked to learn of Justice Scalia’s passing today, and all of us at CAC extend our condolences and sympathy to the Justice’s family, colleagues, and many friends. Perhaps his greatest legacy on the bench will be his incredibly influential focus on originalism. While we disagreed with his views on many issues, we share Justice Scalia’s intense emphasis on the idea that judges should look to the text and history of the Constitution when deciding cases, and we appreciate his long service to our Nation.”
