On May 10, 2010, President Obama nominated Solicitor General Elena Kagan to replace the retiring Justice John Paul Stevens as an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court, which CAC supported. On August 5, 2010, the Senate confirmed Kagan’s nomination by a vote of 63-37.
