Constitutional Accountability Center’s Brianne Gorod Named Chief Counsel
Washington, DC – Constitutional Accountability Center is announcing that Brianne Gorod, CAC’s Appellate Counsel since April 2013, will become Chief Counsel effective today.
“I couldn’t be more excited for the future of CAC’s litigation program with Brianne as our Chief Counsel,” said CAC President Elizabeth Wydra. “Her combination of intellect, judgment, and skill is extraordinary and she has been invaluable as the leader of our Supreme Court review project. There is no one more qualified to lead our advocacy in the nation’s courts into the years ahead.”
Gorod joined CAC from O’Melveny & Myers (OMM), where she was Counsel in the firm’s Supreme Court and appellate practice. Following a term as law clerk for Justice Stephen Breyer on the U.S. Supreme Court, Gorod served as an Attorney-Adviser in the Office of Legal Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice. She also served as a law clerk for Judge Robert A. Katzmann on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, as well as for Judge Jed S. Rakoff on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Gorod, who received her J.D. from Yale Law School and her M.A. and B.S. from Emory University, has had her academic writings published in the Yale Law Journal, the Duke Law Journal, the Northwestern University Law Review, the Washington Law Review, the American University Law Review, the Yale Law & Policy Review, and the NYU Journal of Law & Liberty.
