The 14th Amendment’s Shield of National Protection: A Constitutional Guarantee of Liberty and Equality
CAC and the National Constitution Center hosted an exciting debate at the U.S. National Archives on how the Fourteenth Amendment’s shield of national protection enshrined the promise of liberty and equality in our Constitution. Our distinguished guests discussed the implications for some of today’s most important issue, including racial discrimination, gun rights, marriage equality, economic liberty, and gender equality.
