CAC Release: Failing to Enforce Subpoena of Bondi is Failing the American People

WASHINGTON, DC – In response to the unexplained cancellation of Pam Bondi’s scheduled deposition, Constitutional Accountability Center (CAC) Vice President Praveen Fernandes issued the following reaction:

The House Oversight Committee, on a bipartisan basis, voted to subpoena Pam Bondi for an April 14th deposition about the Department of Justice’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case. Without explanation, the April 14th deposition was pulled off the House schedule. This is flatly unacceptable. Chairman James Comer should enforce his Committee’s subpoena. To do otherwise would risk sending the message that complying with duly issued congressional subpoenas is mandatory for everyday Americans, but optional for powerful former officials and Trump allies. Allowing Bondi to evade accountability not only undermines congressional oversight power, but also does a grave disservice to the American people, who deserve answers.
