New Trump Muslim Travel Ban Suffers From Same Religious Discrimination As Old Trump Muslim Travel Ban
Washington, DC – After release of President Trump’s revised Muslim travel ban this afternoon – teased to the public days ago but only issued after coverage of Trump’s joint address to Congress had worked its way through the news cycle – Constitutional Accountability Center President Elizabeth Wydra issued the following reaction:
“Dressing up President Trump’s Muslim ban in more professional legal clothing does not detract from the fact that underneath it’s still a Muslim ban. Trump’s manifest, unconstitutional purpose is still live on his campaign web site, with an all-caps headline speaking loud and clear: ‘DONALD J. TRUMP STATEMENT ON PREVENTING MUSLIM IMMIGRATION.’
“Today’s announcement does nothing to fix that.”
